*SIGH*.The weekend is here again! that means you have been chosen to keep your little tornado busy without sacrificing all those 2 hours of sleep and your sanity. Worry no longer mama, here are some keep-your-kid busy activities!
My daughter, Princess Z, enjoying the Klyde Warren Park located in Dallas, TX
1. Go to your Neighborhood Park!
Now don't give me that face. You might have already known this, however its best you go to a shaded park by a large body of water and/or activities for families. This way there's way more to do at the park than just go down the slide especially a shaded one.
(It ensures that your child wont burn their skin on the metal structures). Below are some of my favorite Dallas parks and why !
Klyde Warren Park-
Multiple splash pads, doggy park near, large open space, on bus route, food trucks, multiple play areas for children of all ages, frequent family events, nearby Perot Museum and Dallas Arts Museum. There's so much to do here so prepare for a child that never wants to leave and neither will you!
2.Create An Escape Place For Them
A lot of time children just need their own space to be themselves and take a minute of relaxation. Invest in a bean bag and a shelf to place books, toys, coloring materials and headphones with their tablet( or go old school and get a radio!). This space could also double as a cool down corner. This should keep them busy for up to 30-to 45 minutes. I recommend having a set routine and incorporate their calm down corner into it. I recommend this activity goes right before nap or bath-time.
3.Go Visit Your Local Library
A lot of times us mommies have to work, what better place to occupy your child and get some work done ( or a little cozy book reading me-time ) than at the public library!
Usually your local library will have a designated area for children, and family fun activities. This also will teach your child responsibility by checking out their own books, and keeping them nice and cared for , under your supervision of course!
Don't worry if you have a screamer, the library staff is very aware that children aren't use to being quiet lol !

4. Bust out The stroller and go on a nature walk !
One thing I love about nature walks is that one, your child is dead tired by the end of it, and two, you get lots of exercise ! I like to have a mixture of them walking around and them chilling in the stroller. Bring plenty snacks in a lunch bag and a speaker! You can jam out while enjoying natures Playground.
5. Go to the museum!
Be sure you're checking up on your nearest museums to see what free events they might have that day!
